The Situation

We’re getting married!!!

Wee! And we’re unemployed! I mean, my fiance is starting a new church and doesn’t have a job outside of that (yet…) and I’m certifiably unemployed (other than helping with the church). When we get back after our honeymoon, we’ll look for work. Too much to do right now.

As far as typical wedding planning goes, I’m on a teeny tiny tweeee little budget.  $2000 dollar wedding – not including honeymoon. I heard typical weddings are… Oh I don’t know, $10,000 or $30,ooo or something.

Thanks to my unemployment income, I have some money coming in.  Thanks to our parents & grandparents, some wedding funds have come together. Also, thanks to the fact that I worked my butt off last year in NYC ( I was a teacher), I have some tax-return money coming in too! Woo!

The Fund$:

About $1500. from parents/grandparents
About $500. of my own money

Oh, and none of this includes the honeymoon! But I’ll talk about that, too.

Boom. $2000 dollar wedding. See how it’s done. I hope my story can help others!
